

ABOUT RUSS BARRON
Russ brings decades of knowledge to his Boston-based intellectual property practice. A patent lawyer and litigator with more than four decades of expertise managing intellectual assets, patents, copyrights, and trademarks, Russ was a founding partner of the IP practice of Foley & Lardner, and later a partner in the IP department at Pepper Hamilton in Boston, garnering significant experience with litigations and trials.
With a background spanning across industries, Russ has helped numerous clients successfully resolve complex litigation and critical business transactions. His clients have ranged from scientific and medical instrument manufacturers, to biochemistry, computer software, data transmission and related technologies. As an adjunct professor at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, he taught “The Business of Intellectual Property" and has given numerous business and legal training presentations to a wide variety of organizations.
Russ is a graduate of Princeton University and New York University Law School. He served as an infantry officer in the US Army. He began his career in New York at Fish & Neave (now Ropes & Gray) and later joined Foley and Lardner as a founding partner of its IP Practice and head of its IP Litigation Practice Group.
He is peer review rated AV Preeminent and was listed in Best Lawyers in America® and Chambers USA when he retired from Foley and Lardner.
He has developed intellectual property programs for a variety of businesses.
